Michael McDonald Concert
Hi-Fi Productions helped On the WAVE productions shoot and then edit Michael McDonald concert footage from the Grenada Theatre benefit concert for the Santa Barbara Education Foundation’s “Keep the Beat” program.  McDonald and his touring band played "Ain’t No Mountain High Enough" and "Taking It to the Streets" with a chorus and a horn section made up of 50 Santa Barbara School District high school music students.
The show was a complete success - McDonald and his mates sounded better than ever, and they graciously earned the charity about $35,000 for "Keep the Beat" in an evening to remember.

Rebuilding our home inside and out after the devastating Jessusita fire threatens all of Santa Barbara, destroying over 80 homes, burning almost 9000 acres, and causing an estimated 20 + million dollars worth of damage.  Our home was saved only through the incredibly valiant efforts of the dedicated firefighters of Engine Co. #37 from Westwood, CA, who defended and saved it from burning to the ground.  34 homes burned to the ground on our street during this devastating tragedy.

January 20, 2009

Michael produced and directed the entertainment for the UniTea Inaugural Ball at the Granada Theatre, benefiting the under insured and uninsured survivors of the recent devastating "Tea" fire in Santa Barbara which burned over 200 homes causing an estimated $40 million in damages.  The response to this "community helping community" celebration benefit was overwhelming and heart warming.

It was an honor and a privilege to help realize the vision of this event, along with so many great musical artists:  Somos Son, Tina Schlieske, Glen Phillips, Area 51, Alan Parsons, and Kenny Loggins.  Michael performed in concert with the legendary Alan Parsons at the show as part of a spectacular night to remember that raised about $50,000 for a special fund for Tea fire victims, celebrating the spirit of change inspired by Barack Obama's election as President of the United States.

January 13th 2009

The Appaloosa DVD and Blu-ray DVDs are released by Warner Bros. Entertainment Home Video.

The added content segments on both releases were shot, edited and produced by Hi-Fi Productions, with Appaloosa's amazing cast and crew, in the fabulous settings of northern NM.   Actors Ed Harris, Viggo Mortensen, Jeremy Irons, Renee Zellweger, Lance Henriksen combined with stellar D.P. Dean Semler and Sound Mixer John Pritchett under Ed Harris' incisive direction.  Producers Ginger Sledge and co-writer Robert Knott worked extremely well with Mr. Harris on his second directorial outing, to create an instant classic western that ranks up there with the all time greats.
